The Lubricant Technical Engineer serves as a technical expert and customer advocate supporting the company’s lubricant business. This role provides technical guidance, product support, training, and field-based expertise to internal teams and external customers to drive lubricant sales growth, ensure product performance, and resolve complex application challenges. The position works closely with Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Supply partners to deliver value-added lubricant solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support & Product Expertise
Review and analyze lubricant samples, including oil analysis reports, and provide recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders. Investigate and resolve product-related issues, including performance concerns, contamination, and application suitability. Serve as a subject matter expert on lubricant products, applications, specifications, and industry standards. Support internal product administration, including product setup, documentation, technical data sheets, and approvals.
Customer & Account Support Provide technical support to strategic lubricant accounts in coordination with Sales and Account Management teams. Conduct lubricant surveys, equipment audits, and plant assessments to identify optimization, conversion, and cost-saving opportunities. Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and presentations to support lubricant programs and initiatives. Assist in the development and execution of customer-specific lubricant recommendations and programs.
Training & Education Develop and deliver technical training for internal teams, including Sales, Customer Service, and Operations. Provide external customer training on lubricant fundamentals, best practices, storage and handling, and application-specific solutions. Support onboarding and continuous education initiatives related to lubricant products and technologies.
Sales & Marketing Support Support sales and marketing initiatives by providing technical input, application expertise, and competitive insights. Assist with product launches, marketing materials, and technical content development. Partner with Sales to support conversions, new product introductions, and competitive displacement efforts.
Special Projects & Continuous Improvement Lead or support special projects related to lubricant growth, efficiency improvements, and technical initiatives. Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes, product offerings, and customer experience. Stay current on lubricant technology trends, OEM requirements, and industry developments.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Three or more years of experience in lubricant applications, technical services, engineering, or a related field.
Strong technical understanding of lubricants, applications, and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
Strong customer service orientation and ability to work cross-functionally.
Proficient in computer systems and ability to learn company software and tools.
Adheres to company values and ethical expectations.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
