The Office of Strategic Communications, Health Sciences, is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join our team. We are looking for a self-starter who is excited to learn and grow in the ever-evolving higher education Communications and Marketing space.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and producing concepts and creative supporting a wide variety of projects including digital advertising, digital signage, email, web, newsletters, print and social media. As part of a cross-functional team, the Senior Graphic Designer will work to produce concepts and designs that can be easily integrated, tested, measured and adjusted as required. You must think conceptually, grasp the bigger messaging and marketing-communications picture, and execute flawlessly. This person should be equally comfortable discussing user experience and digital design and understand how to measure the effectiveness of creativity within the digital channels.

- Experience with UX/UI design with prior experience working within digital design systems.
- Experience developing user interfaces for across screens (desktop, tablet, mobile) with strong experience in responsive design.
- Understanding of modern scripting technologies including HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript.
- Understanding of SEO principles and techniques.
- Interpersonal skills to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to react to aggressive timetables.
- Strong attention to detail and verbal communication skills.

Job Summary
Manages and oversees various graphics functions for the University such as print and electronic marketing images and materials as well as print, media, broadcast, digital, and e-commerce graphics. Ensures designs reflect the University's messaging and style and that projects are completed by deadline.
Essential Functions
- Exceptional skills using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as advanced understanding of development technologies and methodologies as they relate to the digital space.
- Work with team to develop wireframes and prototypes for websites and web applications
- using Figma (or other UX/UI prototyping tools).
- Work within a cross-functional team to rapidly produce designs including interfaces, interaction design, and functional requirements that drive integration and execution.
- Strong foundation in modern web design theory and production methodologies to ensure designs meet project expectations and are fully optimized for delivery.
- Ability to understand project/business strategy and translate them into designs that are measurable and actionable. Work closely with the Director of Digital Strategy to document and uphold efficient, best-in-class design practices.
- Produce high quality design that represents the user experience as defined in functional specifications, wireframes, flow diagrams, schematics and prototypes.
- Deadline driven, with a strong focus on quality in both concept and execution.
Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
