Overview:
Akumen, Inc. seeks dynamic, self-motivated individuals with experience as a Project Manager. We are looking for a Project Manager that can work closely with customers and be a liaison with the team. You will be working with a wonderful team of experienced Project Managers and System Engineers.
Required: This position will be located in Springfield, VA and requires 4 days onsite due to the classified nature of the project. This fully funded position supporting the Department of State.
Responsibilities
• Helps manage project change and configuration processes by managing change requests, reviewing open issues, updating configuration baselines, and communicating essential information to the project team and stakeholders
• Assists in the successful execution of the program testing process and testing activities
• Assists with the management and optimization of service delivery processes and service agreements and analyzes IT operation metrics for problems and opportunities
• Helps establish IT project plans including project purpose, objectives, technical approach, and schedules
• Supports the creation and maintenance of program documentation including Standard Operating Procedures, Test Plans, Reference Guides, Training Guides, etc.
• Supports administration of SharePoint and the program's document repository
• Supports team travel, and logistics (as required)
• Supports equipment inventory, and shipping needs (as required)
• Travel and off-hours work may be required though minimal
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or IT Management (or equivalent related field experience)
- PMP certification required
- 4+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
- 3+ years of experience in writing technical documents
- 3+ years of experience in a client facing role; federal clients preferred
- Knowledge of developing, implementing, and monitoring IT program and project delivery
- Proficiency in MS Office Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and SharePoint
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and apply new skills and approaches, team player
- Strong communication (written and oral), presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Able to take initiative, manage own workload, and assume responsibility for tasks
- Able to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and meet internal and client deadlines
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and innovative thinking
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Agile/SCRUM environments
- ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
- ITIL® Foundation certification
- Familiarity with MS Project and ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM)
Clearance Requirement:
- Active Secret or Top-Secret government security clearance.
