What You Will Do
- Direct the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) institutional web effort.
- Develop comprehensive web strategies, guidelines, and policies for the institution, including colleges, schools, departments, and specific units, while supporting institutional marketing directives.
- Identify best uses of new and emerging web technologies and guide their implementation in university-wide communications by staying current with best practices and online trends.
- Partner with the Director of Marketing to direct online lead generation and advertising initiatives related to enrollment and new student recruitment, fundraising, and capital campaign objectives, and assist with implementing and interpreting university-wide marketing research.
- Direct the Marketing and Communications Interactive Media team and serve as a team lead for the broader ITS/UMC University web teams, including coordination with the campus community on major web initiatives.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
- One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
- Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
AND
-Master's degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Digital Media, Computer or Information Science, or related field
-5+ additional years of demonstrated effectiveness in web design, development and construction; including web strategy, content development, planning, analysis, and execution, expert level web page design and user interface design
OR
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Communications, Digital Media, Computer or Information Science, or related field
-9+ additional years of demonstrated effectiveness in web design, development and construction; including web strategy, content development, planning, analysis, and execution, expert level web page design and user interface
design.
Preferred:
Degree, training, or exposure to advanced internet technologies, information design and web management concepts, Ability to create and implement a comprehensive university web strategy that sets the overall direction for the university web presence as well as acting as a project manager in a lead role establishing an overall web strategy and direction for campus entities as well as managing and developing web teams, Ability to develop lead generation sites with regard to recruitment, fundraising and the capital campaign (driving traffic to the sites and converting them to customers), Experience in project management, industry best practices, and the effective use of a range of online media to achieve strategic goals in online communication and marketing.
