Applications Engineer I
The Application Engineer researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Aids in the design and development of existing products; communicates product challenges and customer specific requirements
• Expedites customer resolutions by coordinating actions and feedback from customer care, quality, and engineering. Utilizes SWOT analysis to review internal and competitive products.
• support internal and external teams by providing technical data and product documentation
• Coordinate additional support activities and post-sales technical support with engineering departments
• In depth development of technical and design documentation (e.g. Standard operating procedures, Engineering specification drawings.
• Presents live, virtual, or pre-recorded product knowledge training to internal employees, customers, sales reps, distributors, and contractors Represents Zurn in the field during installation, troubleshooting, or other post-sales support
• Liaises with the sales team as a technical expert, through product comparisons, product testing, compliance reports
• Determine product technical strength/weaknesses vs. competition
• Determines functional condition for returned goods through performance inspections and assists Quality Assurance with documenting inspection reports
• Assists the NPD team with BETA Testing Process by identifying potential opportunities, helps obtain feedback and monitor product performance to support the GTMS strategy
• Travels to customers installation sites: to represent ZURN in the field to observe product installation and field performance.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, (Power Point, Excel, Word, Access)
- Teamwork, presentation, project management, and verbal/written communication skills required
- ACAD/ Inventor Computer skills
- Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Customer Driven Sense of Urgency
- Must have ability to lead, train, and drive change
- Self-motivated individual able to multi-task effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
